We recently just completed a very thrilling transport job. It’s not every day that you get to haul a hand built pirate ship from Nanaimo BC to Morgan Hill California! What’s interesting (as you’ll find out in the CNN iReport video) is that the buyer found the seller on YouTube.
We had to modify our 40′ sailboat trailer somewhat to be able to haul this boat safely. It wasn’t easy but in the end it was all worth it to see this pirate ship ending up where it really belonged – in a pirate Caribbean paradise! That’s right, the buyer has completely replicated a Caribbean island in the backyard of his 2 acre property where he holds fundraisers and community events. This project started out as a hobby 10 years ago believe it or not.
Enough of the talking! Here are the videos and photos!

Very cool blog post! Next time I’m down in San Jose I will definitely have to check that place out! Good job on the transport guys!
That would have been fun to be a part of. I go to the NAPA area of California quite often so if time permits, I will go check this out.
It’s definitely worth the trip!
I think you did a great job Justin. I was amazed at how you were able to back into Rich’s place without even stopping once to re-position the trailer. The modifications to the trailer for the Pirate ship must have taken you a day to preform. I know who I will call next time I need my sailboat moved.
I saw this on the ferry ride over from Nanaimo. I have driven truck for over 32 years and I have never seen anything more interesting on any of my trips and I have seen a lot. I didn’t get the driver’s name as I was too interested in the boat and he took a good 25 minutes to explain how they loaded the boat and how they had also hauled a Chinese Junk Boat to Toronto from BC. He also treated the boat with extreme care and I would hire this company any day to haul for me.
That is why we use JT Hotshotting for all our boat and sailboat transport. It hasn’t mattered what type of boat or what conditions are, they always complete the job, Safely and on time. JT Hotshotting is not the cheapest, but in our books, They are the BEST! If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
Your company can move almost any type of boat or sailboat. I think this would have been a very interesting job.
If you guys can move this type of boat safely, I know who I will be hiring to move my sailboat.
Good to know there is a company that can haul boats and ships that are not normal. I may be calling you in the spring.
Great job Justin. That was the neatest ship I had ever seen up close.
When I sold you the trailer, I told you it was worth every dollar and could haul almost any sailboat.
We will definately check this out as we are going to Disneyland during Spring break and our son is crazy about pirates.
Good to know there is a local company that can move odd boats and ships. We sell sailboats so will call you.
Very interesting. I saw that ship numerous times in Nanaimo. I wish I had been there to see it loaded and leaving.
